I'm not a huge fan of wash off/peel off masks in general, but I've been experimenting with a few samples in an attempt to branch out towards more deep cleansing treatments as oppose to the typical anti aging and/or hydrating ones I keep stocked. I am particularly eager to try out more clay based packs like carbonated bubble masks, they look like so much fun to use! But all in good time, I only have a limited amount of space :P
I had some awful experiences with this mask - I had acquired ten samples of this, but these days I prefer to use up over being wasteful and simply discarding. I really, really didn't enjoy using this product! The consistency was thick, gloopy and incredibly sticky (gross!) which made it difficult to apply and spread over different areas of the face. The smell reminded me of henna paste, which I didn't particularly find appealing, and the stuff itself was so cold out of the packet! I can only describe the experience as what I'd imagine being akin to melting gummy cola bottle sweets, dunking my fingers in it and haphazardly smearing it across my face. It was uncomfortable to wear, especially when it began to dry (which took just under an hour for some places, especially since I had trouble creating an even layer all over). When it came to washing my hands I couldn't help leaving unsightly brown blobs and fingerprints around the general sink area (which were a bugger to remove) and when the time finally came to peel the darn thing off, it didn't come away from the skin easily, making me feel like most of my face was actually coming off with it (ouch). To add insult to injury, there were no discernible signs of improvement whatsoever which was exasperating, to say the least! There are no pics of me using this stuff because I couldn't wait for the the whole thing to come to an end. Colour me 100% unimpressed. And brown.
Skin Food Black Sugar Mask
This is an incredibly popular exfoliating treatment in Korea. The consistency was a thick brown scrub; the granularity of which felt quite course to start off with, but as it's made from all natural ingredients, it broke down with warm water to make for a less abrasive massage . I left it on for roughly the same amount of time I leave sheet masks on for (approx 30 mins) and I was absolutely amazed when I rinsed it off. My face was unbelievably smooth, my skin tone evened out almost to perfection! I'm not a big user of face scrubs anymore, but I'm definitely introducing this into the rotation once I've used up all my exfoliating peeling gel (Cure natural aqua).

And last but not least, my mattifying green clay mask from French brand LANGÉ Paris (see post - 12 step skincare routine pt.2) I only use green clay products if I feel my skin is getting a little red in certain places and needs a bit of calming down, but it's a good skin prep for my pore tightening ampoule/treatment to get my base as smooth as possible prior to makeup. The smell is a little overpowering, but I suppose that's to be expected with anything that contains tea tree oil. I use this as part of my fortnightly deep cleanse ritual - the very obvious 3cm gap between my product and hairline can be attributed to the absence of headband during application. The damn thing hides from me!

Again, going to try and get my hands on some more Korean wash off masks (as oppose to peel off) in the near future, so watch this space. :D
