As I've mentioned in previous posts, I have recently begun my lifelong journey chasing immortality, and one of the many ways in which I've been battling visible signs of aging is watching what I put in my body... food that is ;)
As both a refined diner and a fastfood junkie making crazy amendments to my diet has been no mean feat, so instead of going full detox I've started slow.
I start by putting an alarm on my phone to remind me to take my multivitamin in the morning (I'm still ploughing through my bulk-buy of prenatal vitamins).
I'm drinking at least six glasses of water a day (2 with each meal) that holds 300ml, making me just shy of the recommended 2 litres a day. Staying hydrated is incredibly important for health and wellbeing for obvious reasons as well as helping to promote an even and youthful complexion.

While I do struggle to get my five a day, I do eat a hell of a lot of fruit, particularly ones that contain Vit C to assist in the absorption of iron and production of collagen. I will normally have a couple of these for breakfast and nothing more (currently keeping to a postnatal 1000 calorie max diet to help shed those last few lbs).
Even though I do still drink fancified macchiatos like they're going out of fashion I've swapped a lot of my 'notmal' cups of tea for both green and red ginseng tea, both of which are absolutely delicious and have a lot of antioxidising and anti aging properties, not to mention reduced caffeine content which is a habit I've been trying desperately to give the boot. Shares in Starbucks won't be dropping any time soon though.

I've cut back on red meat and substituted oily/raw fish as my main source of protein, and since I've cut out bread and potato almost entirely, rice and bulgur wheat with quinoa is where I get most of my carbohydrate. I am a sushi nut and I absolutely love Asian cuisine; I can't remember the last time I used a fork.

I've also discovered that if you eat well, you develop a taste/craving for healthy foods as oppose to the usual things such as sweets/chocolate and anything akin thereto.
In conclusion, eat well, drink well, stay young for longer :)
