More from Geek Chic!

So I'm sitting in Costa after collecting my parcel and being trounced by an unexpected duties fee (the cheek) sipping my latte and going through my little package I've just collected form the post office.

Bit shocked at the quality of the casing and the sizes considering how much I had to pay, but it's pretty niche I guess. The mana potion lipgloss we've already looked at.

Lippies

Bulma Briefs (Joysticks...Geek Reference...Dragon Ball Z)

Their description is accurate enough - minty/frosty green, sheer to semi-opaque coverage. Wouldn't layer it over darker colours though if you want to keep it cool toned.

KAOS (Joystick..Geek reference: 'Get Smart.')

Quite a nice stormy sky colour (grey/purple) has a nice smooth, creamy and most importantly non sticky consistency - makes for easier application.

Little Sister (Biobalms...Geek Reference... 'Bioshock')

Eyes:

Eldritch (Strange Aeons...Geek Reference...'H.P.Lovecraft - Call of Cthulhu')

All eyeshadows are contained in tiny loose powder dispenser pots. Eldritch is a lovely smokey olive green -
(all shadows worn over Bellapierre eyeshadow base).

Worn over a sweeping underlay of 'sane inside sanity.'

Sane Inside Sanity (Science Fiction Double Feature...Geek Reference...Rocky Horror Picture Show)

Cool blonde pigment with black and gold holo specks.

Born in Fire (Win or Die...Geek Reference...Game of Thrones)

Amethyst indigo with a smidge of ruby/sapphire sparkle. Would personally choose to wear over matte greys.

Chewie (Single Player...Geek Reference...Star Wars - Chewbacca!)

Eyeshadow shade inspired by my favourite star wars character -
Si por favor!

Copper with a dusting of sunny gold, makes me think of the Sahara desert after a sandstorm.

Fragrance - Solid Scents

Pithos of curiosity (Les Femmes Tragiques...Geek Reference...Pandora's Box)

At only $3.49 a pop I didn't expect a great deal, but I purchased this particular scent because I thought that I would never again come across a fragrance that encompasses notes of both absinthe and marshmallow. I mean... what a bizarre combination! I am however vehemently disappointed and here's why:

Notes

Geek Chic                                                                                                                        Actuality
Base: Roasty Toasty Marshmallow                                                                               Base: Vanilla
Heart: Smokey Vanilla Bean                                                                                         Heart: Cinnamon
Top: Rich herby absinthe                                                                                               Top: Mint

The cinnamon smell is so strong and unwelcome, I can only describe the imposition as being tantamount to a facehugger that leaps out and gags you with cinnamaldehyde (look at how I aptly employ the use of both sci-fi and chemistry references in this simile.) Overall impression - not impressed. Best keep a lid on it Pandora.

I do really like geek chic cosmetics despite some let downs on the quality and shipping speed and will be getting some more products in soon.
