It's taken me a loooong time to finally get round to doing this post so I'll get straight down to it.
Suqqu Base
It's important to first apply a base prior to mascara; it increases longevity and creates more defined and full bodied lashes. I choose the Suqqu base: it's very light weight which makes for more comfortable wear (your lashes don't get that heavy/loaded feeling underneath mascara). The use of resin fibre obviates the need for waterproofs, and conditioning agents also separate the lashes and stave off clumping for more of a natural look. Best one I've used to date.

Mac False Lashes Extreme Black
What a fantastic product! I absolutely love the sort of bishop chess piece shape of the wand; a lot of people have trouble maneuvering the mascara due to its unique shape, however I don't tend to struggle myself - I find that it aids 'twiddlage.' Relieved that somebody somewhere along the design process has finally realised that you don't need a gigantic brush head to create volume... Length and separation is second to none, however I find it does need layering for a true false lash effect.

** Probably should have taken these pics after a good kip; snapped straight from work - fine lines looking far too prominent **

Estee Lauder Lash Primer Plus
The next pairing is more my 'everyday/workaholic/lounge-around' couplet. I find that this base works better with cheaper mascaras, since it makes them look a lot better than they actually are.

Case in point - I usually need only one layer of this run o' the mill blergh to last me the ten hours a day I'm forced to venture outdoors.
Maxfactor False Lash Effect
A little clumpy, but volume is pretty easy to achieve with thissun. It's cheap, but I've been using it for a good four years and I can guarantee without a shadow of a doubt that it's the best 'drugstore' brand mascara. Possibly.
Only drawback is removal, takes a good four or five cotton pads doused in remover to get it all completely off. Sometimes I still find tiny black strokes during my morning cleanse!
