I love everything about red polish. The eye-catchyness, the statement it makes, everything. I've lost count of how many red polishes I have both in my personal collection and in my kit, so I thought I'd dedicate a post to red in an attempt to self indulgently catalogue and inventorise. Hopefully I'll offer a decent insight into which ones are the best too.
Painted my right hand, a different red on each finger:
Pics taken prior to acetone tidy. Admittedly not my neatest work, bit of a rush job since I'd just got out of the tub and was getting ready to par-taay.

All excellent quality moderately priced polish, got a particular soft spot for OPI as I'm sure you've spotted. Looking back I probably shouldn't have used more than one coat for Quarter of a cent cherry and Malaga wine, they've both ended up looking the same colour. Malaga is ever so slightly darker with more of a blueish tinge.
Orly - Ruby passion I've got on the little finger, a very soft coral red with a soupçon of gold/silver shimmer - 3 coats, 0 top coat.
Leighton Denny - caught red handed - bright and bold iridescent red - 2 coats, 0 top coat
OPI - Red my fortune cookie - very bright almost neon red. These OPIs are sans shimmer or sparkle so I used 2 coats and a top coat for each.
